Efforts in Relation to Safety and Quality

"Thorough commitment to safety and quality assurance (QA)" comes first in the management policies of Mitsubishi Chemical Logistics Corporation. Under a policy of putting a first priority on safety and QA in logistics operations, the company has achieved industry-leading safe transport, especially in the handling of dangerous goods.
Along with the increasingly higher interest in compliance and environmental issues in society, measures consistent throughout customer business activities, including logistics, are required in order to maintain trust in society and enhance a favorable corporate image.
Based on our past field records, we implement a comprehensive range of initiatives to offer logistics services secured with safety and quality to meet such needs from customers.

(1) We believe that logistics operations are services. We commit ourselves to improving logistics quality that satisfies not only consignors but also consignees.

(2) Working together with partner companies, we conduct safety council activities where we address challenges of preventing recurrence of trouble and proactive prevention.

(3) We are addressing complete risk management, including environmental measures. We conduct thorough education and emergency drills so that necessary measures can be promptly taken when any trouble occurs. We also carry a Yellow Card* when chemicals are transported.

* What is the Yellow Card?
It is a card that briefly summarizes the name of dangerous or hazardous materials, UN Dangerous Goods Number (optional), relevant laws and regulations, types of danger or hazard, first aid at the time of accident, emergency notification, emergency contact and measures to prevent disaster expansion in order to secure safety during the transport of chemicals and to take appropriate measures at the time of an accident.

(4) We believe that logistics operations are services. We commit ourselves to improving logistics quality that satisfies not only consignors but also consignees.

Environmental Initiatives

Based on the principle that "harmony with the environment (as well as safety and quality control) is a corporate social responsibility," Mitsubishi Chemical Logistics Corporation addresses environmental load reductions.
In terms of reducing transport energy (compliance with the revised Energy Saving Law), we have established a structure to respond to customer requirements by:

(1) Developing systems to grasp the amount of energy consumption
(2) Proposing transport modes to reduce energy consumption by utilizing RORO vessels and MCLC network systems

We are also aggressive in environmental load reduction through the installation of digital tachometers on all vehicles of our subsidiaries as well as equipment of Friend Fins for coastal transport vessels.

Initiatives in Marine Transport Operations

We promote initiatives for the "elimination of accidents and trouble" and "environmental management," offering the best services of "safety and security."
We have introduced an exclusive safety standard of "Certified Vessel System" to provider consignors with the ideal vessels. We post an expert with deep knowledge of laws and regulations on vessels to support and guide ships coming into ports, attempting to strengthen safety. As safety standards for marine transport, we have acquired compulsory and optional ISM certifications, offering a sense of safety and assurance to consignors and customers.
For "quality," we have established a "Transport Management Standard" and "Maintenance Standard" for quality management during transport, promoting thorough quality control.
